Cockroach Eradication Wellington

Cockroaches have changed little during the 400 million years they have been around. They live almost anywhere and feed on practically anything of nutritional value, such and soap, glue or toothpaste.

In addition to being a nuisance, Cockroaches are implicated in outbreaks of illness, including salmonella and dysentery. Further, they transmit a variety of pathogenic organisms and many people have allergic reactions to Cockroaches.

Cockroach Eradication Processes

German Cockroaches are a big problem in the food industry. Usually they are found in kitchens, laundries, and inside buildings where high humidity prevails. The preferred control of these Cockroaches is the use of baits. Once they have eaten the bait, they contaminate each other from mutual grooming and consumption, producing a cascade of destruction throughout the Cockroach population. We recommend avoiding ‘over the counter’ sprays as they do not usually solve the problem, and may in fact make the problem worse.

Native or Bush Cockroaches are controlled by a perimeter, interior, roof and basement spray treatment, using appropriately labeled insecticides. Outside, cleaning up and removal of leaf and bark debris, removal of vines and trees in close proximity to the building, or sealing cracks and crevices on the perimeter of the house will prevent further infestations.

You will usually find ‘over the counter’ products will not completely solve the problem. Because Cockroaches tuck themselves away in cracks and crevices throughout the building, it is often hard to locate and eradicate the entire population.
